Ginger is known to be very effective to alleviate the pain, no matter if it is due to arthritis, muscle strain or injury. The ginger has anti-inflammatory compounds in it and can help in reducing the swelling as well as ease the pain.
Take one cup of water and add a crushed piece of fresh ginger root in it. Boil it for 10 minutes. Simmer for 5 minutes and strain it. Add a little lemon juice and honey. The recommended dose is 2 to 3 cups a day from this tea, until the pain is gone.
It is also highly recommended to massage the affected knee with ginger oil 2 or 3 times daily until the pain is gone.
If the knee pain is cause by arthritis, lemon is a very beneficial home remedy. Lemons contain high levels of citric acid, which acts as a solvent for uric acid crystals.
How to use it:
One to two lemons cut into small pieces.
Take a bowl and put in warm sesame oil in it.
Using a cotton cloth tie the pieces together and dip it in the warm sesame oil.
The soaked cloth then should be applied to the affected knee for at least 5-10 minutes.
This procedure is recommended at least twice daily until you feel pain relief.
It is also recommended to drink juice of 1 lemon diluted in a glass of warm water on an empty stomach each morning.
